Healing from trauma is vulnerable, courageous, and essential work for the Self. Trauma manifests in the body as stagnant energy affecting our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By bringing heightened awareness to the body we can begin the process of healing from the inside out. In this 6-week therapy group with yoga therapist Rachel Jennine Goudey, specific asanas (postures), pranayama practices (breathing practices), meditations and relaxation techniques will be explored, taught, and practiced to suit the needs of each client in healing on all levels (mind, body, spirit). You will learn how to utilize your yoga practice to repair and work with the nervous system; helping you to work with your trauma and leave the group feeling empowered, strong, and capable.
No prior yoga experience is needed. Each week's class will build upon the one prior, and will consist of yoga practice, journal prompts, reflection and group process (talk therapy).
Rachel has over 10 years experience working in the field of mental health, and creates a sacred and safe healing space in her classes for clients to touch-in on their healing practice at their own pace, while feeling supported and uplifted by community.
